Everton’s first transfer deal of the January window looks set to be finalised, as Calciomercato report that Gerard Deulofeu is all but on his way to AC Milan on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old winger has made only twelve appearances for Everton this season, and some commanding performances in Italy might be enough to convince Toffees manager Ronald Koeman that he should be given a bigger cut of the action at Goodison Park next year.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani appears to have finalised the deal, and has only been waiting for Chinese consortium Sino-Europe (who are set to acquire a majority share at the San Siro in three months’ time) to approve the transfer. They have now done so.
Deulofeu is expected to arrive at the San Siro in a few days’ time, and will discover a club still revelling in the delight of its first trophy since 2011. The Rossoneri beat Juventus on penalties in the Supercoppa Italiana on December 23.
The talent of the Spanish winger has always been there, but Ronald Koeman has still been looking to invest in a new right winger after Yannick Bolasie’s injury issues. Aaron Lennon is another who has not done enough to earn Koeman’s favour and may be offloaded.
Everton are seventh in the Premier League, but could only sneak a late equaliser to avoid defeat at relegation strugglers Hull on Friday.
