Outcast Manchester United winger Memphis Depay released a New Year’s message to all his followers, which signalled that the Dutch international may be leaving Old Trafford this transfer window.
Depay has barely been utilised by manager Jose Mourinho this season, prompting rumours that he could be loaned out for the rest of the campaign, with Everton the most likeliest of destinations.
Filming a tongue-in-cheek video where he is seen wearing the hat that caused a controversy amongst Dutch press, Depay remarks that, “I wish you all a happy New Year and I am hoping for a more positive 2017. A year where we build each other up instead of breaking each other down.”
Since making his £25m move from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2015, Depay has barely shown the talent that he obviously possesses and neither Louis van Gaal nor Jose Mourinho seem able to get the best out of him.
