Liverpool Try to Troll Southampton on Twitter, Fail Miserably and Get Rinsed Themselves

With Liverpool set to host Southampton in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday night, the Reds thought they could get in their opponents’ heads via social media.

Having picked the Saints choicest players over the last few seasons, Liverpool put them all on a graphic and used that as their pre-match Twitter advert.

They got one thing wrong, however. And it’s quite embarrassing.

The word Southampton has always been known to carry one ‘h’, but another was added by their contracted designer, completely nullifying the effect and turning the joke on them.

Not the best look, right?

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has promised to field the best possible line-up for this match, having faced loads of criticism over his choice for the FA Cup third-round tie against Plymouth on Sunday.

“Wednesday will see the best team we can line up,” he claimed.

“I have absolutely no problem with criticism but it was not about under-estimating an opponent. It is not about young, old, whatever.

“It is about which line-up made the most sense because of the injury situations of the players and the timing – when do we play who?”
