Hull City inflicted a fourth defeat in five matches for Liverpool after Alfred N’Diaye and Oumar Niasse netted to gain a vital 2-0 win in order to increase the club’s chances of avoiding relegation from the Premier League.
Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet produced a howler after dropping the ball at his feet to allow N’Diaye to score on his Hull City debut.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has criticised Mignolet for the error, reiterating his desire for the club to buy a new goalkeeper in the summer.
Carragher: “Simon Mignolet showed again today why Liverpool need to sign a goalkeeper. He is not decisive enough.”

Loris Karius has also been the subject of much criticism, as questions remain over the strength of Liverpool’s goalkeeping department.
This has prompted links over a summer move for England international Joe Hart, who is on loan at Serie A side Torino from Manchester City.
Liverpool could drop outside the Champions League places if Manchester City draw with Swansea City on Sunday.
Hull have moved up to 18th, one point off the relegation places.
