Alvaro Morata has told pals he is joining Chelsea this summer – claiming he feels ‘cheated’ by Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane.
The Los Blancos forward, 24, had been linked with London rivals Arsenal, but is said to have already decided on Antonio Conte’s Blues outfit.
The Telegraph reports Morata – who has started just six league matches for Real Madrid this season – is a huge fan of Conte.
It’s thought the Spaniard is Conte’s preferred choice to replace Diego Costa, who appears set to make a big-money move to China.
Morata, who is valued at £50million, reportedly had a huge falling out with boss Zidane over his lack of playing time – saying he felt ‘cheated’ over summer promises.
The Spaniard has tried his hardest to break into the first team, but couldn’t nail down a regular spot. With Gareth Bale set to return from injury, that task will only get harder.
Earlier in the week, Zidane admitted he doesn’t want Morata to leave – claiming Madrid ‘is his home’.
“I would not like it if Morata wanted to go at the end of the season,” he told a news conference.
“He’s had fewer minutes, fewer than Karim, but he has had them. This is his home.”
Morata will start Real Madrid’s match with Espanyol today.
